Серия The Amazing Spider-Man

Пожалуй, ни одна серия игр про супергероев не получила столько проектов, как коллекция про Человека-паука. Всего насчитывается более 50 игр про этого супергероя, а вот серия The Amazing Spider-Man, основанная на линейке одноимённых комиксов, состоит из 6 проектов. Игры выходили чуть ли не на все платформы (включая игровые автоматы), причём разрабатывались они как платформеры, файтинги, экшены от третьего лица и сайд-кроллеры. Конечно, сейчас в игры 90-х поиграть получится с трудом, зато 2 последние выглядят вполне прилично.

Особенности игры

• кроме самого Спайди, в играх встречаются другие положительные протагонисты (вроде Капитана Америка или Сорвиголовы);
• много старых и новых врагов, знакомых только истинным фанатам комиксов;
• в последних частях – большой открытый город, по которому можно летать на паутине, бороться с преступностью и делать фото.

Lollipop Chainsaw

Lollipop Chainsaw — это произведение в жанре hack-and-slash. В нем рассказывается история школьной истребительницы зомби по имени Джульет Старлинг, излучающей атмосферу Баффи Саммерс из «Баффи — истребительницы вампиров». В свой 18-й день рождения она отправляется в гости к своему парню. Но затем девушка обнаруживает, что ее школу захватили зомби. А ее парень Ник окружен полчищами монстров.

Игроку предстоит управлять Джульеттой, то есть бороться с полчищами зомби. Помощник героини — ее очаровательная и смертоносная бензопила. В процессе игры персонаж собирает очки, которые можно потратить на новую одежду, предметы и даже движения чирлидерши. Последние, кстати, очень эффективны в борьбе с монстрами. Интересный факт: Сценарий фильма «Леденцовая бензопила» написал Джеймс Ганн, сценарист и режиссер «Стражей Галактики» и «Отряда самоубийц». В интервью сайту Collider он сказал, что сцена драки Харли Квинн с заменой крови разными цветами и птицами была вдохновлена его работой над фильмом «Леденцовая бензопила».

Scribblenauts Mega Pack

Главный трюк Scribblenauts слишком хорош, чтобы быть правдой. Вы можете написать любое слово и увидеть, как оно оживает в игре. Каким-то образом это работает, даже если взаимодействие с почти бесконечным количеством возможных предметов становится неудобным. 8. Vampyr

Vampyr

As the title of this game clearly indicates, Vampyr is about, well, a vampire. It blends RPG systems, choices, branching paths, and first-person combat into a horror theme, setting, and story; all factors that lends to the appeal of Vampyr. It’s because of these elements that Vampyr has amassed a cult-like following.

The story takes place in London during World War I. The protagonist is a doctor named Jonathon Reid, who is on the frontlines as a flu sweeps over the city.

While Dr. Reid wants desperately to help people, there’s a problem, and it’s kind of a big one: he’s a vampire, and as such, he has a very hard time quelling his desire for blood.

As a vampire, Dr. Reid learned to master his powers and battles the conflicts within himself. You are tasked with assisting him with making big decisions that will ultimately affect the plot and determine whether he will retain his humanity or if he will become a blood-thirsty killer.

In addition to the exciting adventure-horror setting, Vampyr features a fantastic combat system. Dr. Reid has a mixture of ranged and melee weapons, as well as skills that he unlocks as the game proceeds.

The streets are full of horrors, though, so make sure that you are ready to encounter some pretty frightening jump scares.

Psychonauts

Довольно старый приключенческий платформер, выпущенный еще в 2005 году. Kena: Bridge of Spirits — An Indie Game With a Lot of Soul

Kena is a spirit guide who helps troubled souls make their transition to the spirit world. Troubled souls sometimes have difficulty letting go, and they cause havoc, but Kena receives help from the Rot, which are cute, black balls of fluff that boost her moves and assist her with environmental puzzles. As though the Rot are not adorable enough on their own, players can also dress them up in tiny hats that they wear as they follow Kena around. Kena’s main weapon is her staff, which she can turn into a bow that shoots arrows of light.

The game presents a touching story of loss and grief which is conveyed through a cast of memorable characters. Along the way, players encounter characters who have been through traumatic experiences, and it is Kena’s job to help them process the pain, even if it involves an intense battle first. The emotional highs are made more impactful by the fact that the game does not make use of much dialogue, instead letting players piece together the story through facial expressions and subtle hints. While this may leave some players feeling like the plot is thin, others may appreciate the subtle storytelling style.

Perhaps most surprisingly, Kena’s gameplay is tough, and players will find themselves with sweaty palms when it is time to take on the bosses. Enemies have varied moves, and they can be pretty fair yet unforgiving during showdowns, which has led to some critics comparing the game to God of War and Dark Souls. This, combined with a phenomenal soundtrack, ensures that Kena’s boss battles are unforgettable experiences.

Borderlands has quite the track record for off-beat humor and an overabundance of Handsome Jack in its games. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is chock-full of lovable characters and strange quests you’ll find while traversing Pandora’s moon, most likely ignoring the main story and instead opting to complete all the side quests. The main narrative is incredibly entertaining to play, but the side quests are just as good, again showcasing how fantastic the franchise’s humor is.

Both Kena: Bridge Of Spirits and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are games you can play to relax. They won’t be anything stressful like Dark Souls and it will be an excellent way to wind down your day.

The Darkness

Shadow Warrior (2013-)

В 2013 году уже забытая Shadow Warrior вернулась с неожиданно крепким переосмыслением.

Новая версия хвастала сочной графикой, навороченной боевой системой, высокой динамикой и, конечно, крутым и довольно саркастичным главным героем.

Вторая часть увеличила масштабы и добавила сюжета — получилось ещё лучше.

Serious Sam

«Серьёзный Сэм» — своеобразный аналог Doom от хорватов. Сюжета можно сказать нет, зато есть огромные толпы монстров, куча пушек и крутой главный герой.

Это один из лучших мясных шутеров, который позволяет хорошо отдохнуть после работы.

Игр в серии: 5 и много аддонов и переизданий

Doom

После спорной третьей части и провальной Rage, от перезапуска Doom сложно было ожидать чего-то хорошего. Однако результат превзошёл все ожидания: новинка с рёвом ворвалась на рынок и раскидала всех конкурентов.

Возрождённый Doom — максимально злая, кровавая и нереально динамичная стрелялка от первого лица, за темпом который вряд ли способны угнаться другие коллеги по жанру.

Кроме ураганных боёв, Doom славится отличной графикой, оптимизацией, неплохим, но сугубо опциональным сюжетом и по-настоящему инфернальным саундтреком Мика Гордона. Всё это позволило стать ему лучшим шутером 2016 — и скорее всего Doom Eternal унаследует титул в 2020-м.

1. Super Mario Galaxy 2 – 97 из 100

Сиквел самой успешной трехмерной игры про водопроводчика Марио оказался образцовым во всем: авторы перенесли все идеи оригинальной игры и добавили к ним огромное количество новых, не менее веселых и интересных. Здесь Марио перемещается по маленьким планетам целой галактики, решает головоломки и преодолевает препятствия, а также объединяет усилия с динозавром Йоши. Безупречные игровые механики и дизайн уровней в сочетании с запоминающимся и ярким стилем планет сделали Super Mario Galaxy 2 лучшим современным 3D-платформером.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 97 из 100

Самая революционная «Зельда» со времен The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 1998 года. Впервые во франшизе появился огромный полностью открытый мир, масштаб которого сравним с The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. The interactive drama graphic adventure video game series Life is Strange was released by Square Enix and developed by Dontnod Entertainment. It consists of several episodes. 

Character development, choice-based consequences, and narrative-driven gameplay are some of the series’ most well-known features. Its poignant and thought-provoking storytelling has won it a devoted following. 

Life Is Strange transforms narrative-based choice and consequence games by allowing the player to turn back time and change the past, present, and future. As Max, a senior in photography, you discover that you can rewind time, saving her old friend Chloe.

Just like Until Dawn, strong character development, emotionally charged storytelling, and how player decisions affect the course of the game are all hallmarks of the Life is Strange series. 

Oxenfree

Where Until Dawn saw teenagers trapped on a remote snowy mountain, Oxenfree sees them stranded on a remote island. You play as blue-haired Alex who’s on vacation with some pals and her new step brother to explore and test a local myth that if you tune a radio to certain frequencies, you’ll hear ghostly voices. Without spoiling the story any further, the heartbeat of Oxenfree is learning more about the island’s history and the complex relationships between its cast. It’s as much a story about growing up as it is about scares, and the art direction is sublime. With its pastel hues and frosted lighting, this is a world you’ll actually want to get lost in.

Да, насладиться ею можно только на ПК, но все же. Под завесой глюков и тормозов скрывается одна из лучших киберпанковских игр и один из лучших RPG-шутеров за всю историю.

1 Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Sitting beside instantly recognizable characters like Spyro, Sonic, and Crash Bandicoot is Ratchet & Clank, a considerable part of many gamers’ childhood memories. The newest addition to the line-up, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, offers an adventure that longtime fans and new players will love all the same. The most standout features of the game are your ability to travel through different dimensions and the array of weapons and tools provided to you.

Kena and Ratchet & Clank are two games with entertaining combat and different tools at your disposal to shape the way you play. In addition, there are lush worlds that are not only great to venture into but wonderful for taking a break from the story and simply appreciating the beauty of your surroundings.

#5 Detroit Become Human

Again going on from Quantic Dream we have Detroit Become Human. This game is set within the future of Detroit, Michigan where players will take control of three different characters, all of which are androids. In this world developed by the studio, androids have both a following with humans using them as tools to make their jobs easier, while others find them too dangerous and parasites taking jobs away from humans. This video game is all about choices and it certainly seems that there will be a ton of them to choose through within the game. Again, much like Heavy Rain, with QTEs and choices being the center focus here, you can expect there to be plenty of different endings.

The Inpatient

If you still had questions about the Blackwood Sanitorium at the end of Until Dawn, The Inpatient is a must-play. You’re plunged face-first into the 1950s institution through PlayStation VR and step into the shoes (quite literally) of a patient suffering from amnesia. Thankfully the experience is anything but forgettable, with jump scares and a clever twist where NPCs will react to anything you say (or scream) thanks to voice recognition tech. This prequel to Until Dawn is a chilling trip back to the mountain, and once again, the outcome of the story hangs entirely upon the choices that you make.

В открытом школьном мире пользователи самостоятельно выбирают модель поведения. Они избирают сторону как неуправляемых учеников, так и деспотичных преподавателей.

В Bad Guys At School предусмотрено огромная вариативность взаимодействия с окружением. Герои могут устраивать потасовки, взрывать школьные туалеты и скрываться от учителей. Поклонников более брутальных развлечений ждут угон транспорта и кража лошадей. А самым заядлым нарушителям закона придется побегать от полиции.

Изучая локации, геймер собирает уникальные предметы: рогатки, отвертки, жвачки и многое другое. Все они открывают дополнительные ресурсы для прохождения миссий.  Решая квесты, геймер зарабатывает авторитет и деньги. Так его персонаж поднимается в рейтинге «плохих парней».  

В игре предусмотрен многопользовательский режим. Игроки разбиваются на две команды: ученическую и учительскую. После длительного соревнования побеждает сторона, набравшая больше баллов. 

Bad Guys At School не стоит воспринимать как серьезный проект. Игра буквально пропитана безумием и весельем. А нарочито нереалистичная физика делает происходящее только абсурднее. Адвенчура идеально подойдет для расслабления после долгого дня. Возможность разделить досуг с друзьями делает тайтл только лучше. 

Bionic Commando

Главным героем серии является боец спецназа с бионической рукой, которая способна цепляться за препятствия и взаимодействовать с ними. Любопытно, что серия Bionic Commando стала первой, в которой разработчики реализовали концепцию перемещения героя за счет цепляющегося к предметам крюка.

Аркадная стрелялка родом из 1988 года. Компания Capcom выпустила три разных версии игры для аркадных автоматов, консолей NES/Dendy и Game Boy. Спустя 10 лет появилась игра Bionic Commando: Elite Forces для платформ Game Boy Color и Nintendo 3DS.

Не изменяя традиции, через 10 лет после выпуска второй части, разработчики создали улучшенный ремейк Bionic Commando Rearmed, который являлся приквелом серии. Игра была выполнена в схожем с оригиналом стиле, но с более современной графикой и возможностями. Batman Arkham VR

Batman Arkham VR is a very clever game. Since big swooping movements cause motion sickness in virtual reality, the developers made a game about everything else Batman is known for. He might be a caped crusader, but he’s also a detective, and Arkham VR is a distilled mystery where you have to use the gadgets at Bruce Wayne’s disposal (and his ol’ noggin) to figure out what happened after Nightwing goes missing. It’s genuinely spooky too; a trip to a morgue has you craning your neck at cadavers and there are more than a few jump scares. Arkham VR has all the atmosphere of Until Dawn and an equally compelling secret at its core — you’ll have a lot of fun uncovering it. 

8 Tales Of Arise

If Tales of Arise has one thing going for it, it’s the beautiful art style, visually similar to games like Nier Replicant and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. It boasts six characters for you to control, each with their own set of weapons and fighting styles, with the character designs reflecting everyone’s individuality.

Tales Of Arise is all about these characters working together as a team, beginning with conflict and eventually becoming more like a family. Kena is similar in this way with the rot you’ll meet along the way, which will help you out on your journey. Just like how the owls you find in Tales Of Arise provide you with upgrades and new equipment.

#3 Telltale Games The Wolf Among Us

Genre : Graphic adventure

Going on from Telltale Games we have The Wolf Among Us, a title that I might not have included in here since at the time the sequel was scrapped after Telltale Games closed. However, since the studio was brought back from the dead with confirmation of The Wolf Among Us sequel being developed, players can enjoy this first installment knowing that the storyline will continue on. This is not a horrific game, but again like some of the past installments on here, it’s a game that’s very narrative-driven. With The Wolf Among Us, players are jumping into a storyline that’s based on the iconic Fables comic book series.

Here we have a town full of fairy tale characters that were now living in the real world. Forced to stay out of the public attention, the town becomes a center of focus when one of the fairy tale characters is murdered. Now players step into the role of the Big Bad Wolf and are forced into solving the murder before too much attention is cast on their makeshift little American town. If you played a Telltale Game before then you know exactly what you’re getting into, as there’s plenty of exploration, dialoging with characters and QTEs.  

Oxenfree

Speaking of graphic adventure games with lighthearted visual styles, Oxenfree is another one and it’s a mesmerizing tale about a group of friends in the 1980s who managed to open a ghost portal. Like most horror and supernatural stories involving 1980s kids, it was initially supposed to be a fun party.

Then it quickly turned into a mystery thriller where you control the group of kids as they bumble about and try to explore the new environment they’ve opened while unlocking its dangerous secrets. It’s not as nerve-wracking or as horrific as Until Dawn and the other fully-fledged horror games on this list, but Oxenfree has its own coming-of-age story charm.

Detroit: Become Human

Quantic Dream has been perfecting its brand of branching narratives for years now, and Detroit: Become Human is its most recent work. The game is set in a future where androids are as vital a fixture in humans’ daily lives as smartphones, but the plot grapples with a classic science fiction question: Can robots feel the same emotions as humans? Like Until Dawn, each character is vulnerable to permadeath, and player choice dramatically affects where the tale ends. This is sci-fi and not a ghost story, but if you play your cards right you might stumble across a creepy chapter in a house that borrows heavily from horror cinema tropes. Even if you don’t though, Detroit: Become Human is a satisfying interactive drama.

The Inpatient (PS VR)

The Inpatient Gameplay Walkthrough

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Supermassive Games created the PlayStation VR interactive drama survival horror game The Inpatient. The game is a pre-sequel to the events that happen in Until Dawn. 

It takes place 60 years before the events of Until Dawn. The story follows an amnesiac character trying to find themselves and how they became a patient for Blackwood Pines Sanatorium. 

The game’s story is heavily influenced by the choices made by the player, just like in other Supermassive Games titles. These choices can result in a multitude of branching storylines and different outcomes. 

6. Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation is another game that shares a lot of elements that are similar to Until Dawn. If you’re familiar with the Alien franchise and you liked it – and if you liked Until Dawn – then you’re definitely going to want to check out this game.

While Alien: Isolation isn’t an interactive game like Until Dawn is, because of the first-person perspective, the horror it presents may be a lot better. The story follows Amanda Ripley, the main character who is the daughter of Ellen Ripley – the main character of the Alien movie franchise. Alien: Isolation takes place 15 years after the original film.

After her mom (Ellen) disappears, Amanda joins forces with Weyland-Yutani Corporation, where she works as an engineer, in an attempt to learn what happened to her mother.

Unfortunately, Weyland-Yutani attracts aliens, and has lots of interactions with them. Throughout the course of the game, Amanda finds clues about her mother’s disappearance and she heads to Sevastapol, a space station on the outer edges of the frontier, in an attempt to find answers.

Sadly, everyone on the space station is dead as a result of an alien attack and now that Amanda is trapped alone in the space station, she must use the limited tools at her disposal, as well as her wisdom and survival skills, to escape with her life.

Detroit: Become Human

Detroit: Become Human is another story-driven and narrative-heavy game though it’s not exactly horror. It’s also not an interactive drama though there are plenty of moments and scenarios that make it similar in style and format to Until Dawn.

At its core, Detroit: Become Human is a story adventure game revolving around a buddy cop story. An old cop with extreme prejudice against android officers is paired with– you guessed it, an android officer, in order to solve complex cases. 

With that kind of premise alone, you can expect a similar gameplay to Until Dawn but with a story more daring as it questions the essence of humanity and toys with existentialism.

Lollipop Chainsaw

Another great alternative to Until Dawn is The Wolf Among Us. Made by Telltale Games’, it’s one of the developer’s best titles.

A mafia game that’s masquerading as an interactive drama blended with Film Noir, while there are some similarities between The Wolf Among Us and Until Dawn, the former title does have some unique features. You’ll play as the main character, Bigby Wolf, the Sheriff of Fabletown.

Wolf’s job is to investigate a murder, and as he sets out to investigate one murder, Wolf quickly learns that several other murders have occurred in his hometown of Fabletown. As such, he’s tasked with finding out what happening and solving the “Who-done-it-“ mystery.

Overall, The Wolf Among Us does a great job of exploring different things that might motivate a person, and things that might drive someone to do terrible things, like kill.

Skewing more towards the survival than the horror, The Last of Us earns its place by being one of the best games of this console generation, and even a contender for best of all time; a lofty position reserved only for classics like Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy VII and Barbie’s Sparkling Ice Show.

It follows the exploits of Joel and Ellie as they make their way across a post-apocalyptic United States. Your job is to fend off mutated creatures and disgruntled survivors with a selection of weapons that range from very useful (shotguns and handguns) to the very desperate (flinging a bottle at your enemy like a typical Saturday night bender).

And best of all, once you’ve completed the riveting tale, you’re all up to speed and ready for part 2 when that drops in .

Heavy Rain

Lastly, we have Heavy Rain. It’s a crime thriller action-adventure game based on QTEs where players can control four protagonists involved in the manhunt for the enigmatic and dangerous Origami Killer. It’s a serial killer that leaves behind origamis on the crime scene as some kind of signature and to tease the police.

Moreover, the Origami Killer apparently only strikes during sequences of heavy rainfall, hence the title. As far as games go, it’s one of the most cinematic and unique horror experiences with plenty of homages and callbacks to certified thriller blockbusters like Silence of the Lambs, Zodiac, and Se7en. In short, it’s the perfect game to play once you’re done with your fill of other games like Until Dawn.
